Ce K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 Final a été organisé par les nouveaux propriétaires du K-1 et a eu lieu le 15 mars 2013 à Zagreb, en Croatie. C'était la 19ème édition du K-1 World Grand Prix et la première depuis que le K-1 appartient à Global Holdings Ltd by EMCOM Entertainment. Fait notable : pour la première fois, le tournoi final annuel a eu lieu hors du Japon.

C'est ainsi Mirko "Crop-Cop" Filipovic qui s'impose à 38 ans, 13 années après avoir été finaliste du K1 Grand Prix 1999 face à Ernesto Hoost ! Entre-temps, "Cro-Cop" avait été l'un des meilleurs poids lourds au monde en MMA et avait même gagné le Prix Grand Prix 2006 après avoir battu Wanderlei Silva (le champion des 93 kg) en demi-finale et Josh Barnett (le tombeur d'Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira) en finale.
