Pour la première fois, à l'occasion de sa 19ème participation consécutive aux championnats de Russie de sambo sportif (en 2022, les championnats de sambo ont été inclus dans le Spartakiad, une compétition multisports comme les Jeux Olympiques), Artem Osipenko ne monte pas sur le podium.

C’est précisément l'un des points que nous avions identifié dans notre reconstruction précédente.

Ainsi, si Osipenko remportait le Championnat du monde 2026, il passerait bien de 10 à 11 titres mondiaux, égalant le record de Murat Khasanov.

Sa domination s'étend sur 12 années distinctes (en 16 années au plus haut niveau ... peut-être 17 s'il participe à la Coupe du monde 2026) malgré un palmarès inférieur (17 titres mondiaux) à celui de son illustre prédécesseur Murat Khasanov (11 championnats et 8 coupes = 19 titres mondiaux). Dernier titre mondial obtenu en 2024 à 36 ans.

NEW YORK (September 7, 2026) - The Professional Fighters League (PFL) today announced the PFL Heavyweight World Champion Vadim Nemkov (20-2) will look to defend his title at PFL Dubai on Saturday November 14 against #3-Sergei Bilostenniy (15-4) in Coca-Cola Arena. The event marks the first card in Dubai since the merger with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), continuing the promise of delivering world class MMA and boxing shows worldwide.  

The highly anticipated return to the emirates is a part of a cooperation agreement between the Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and PFL, further underlining the city’s reputation as a host destination for world-class sporting events, and a hub for MMA.

The #2 pound-for-pound fighter in PFL, Nemkov is the protégé of MMA heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko, and he carries that legacy with him every time the cage door closes. A four-time Combat Sambo champion and undefeated for the past decade, the former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion moved up to heavyweight in 2024 and claimed PFL gold last December. Athletic, dangerous, stoic, the Russian has half of his wins via KO/TKO and six by submission, with all three heavyweight bouts ending via chokes, he intends to remind the world why he’s regarded as one of the best fighters in PFL. 

Opposite him stands no.3 ranked heavyweight Bilostenniy, 4-1 since joining PFL, whose highlight reel of a spinning head kick KO and a heel hook shows his devastating versatility in the cage. Bilostenniy also fights under the Team Fedor banner, training out of the Moscow gym affiliation, and has previously shared training camps with Nemkov. Combat hybride : un exemple à suivre pour opposer des combattants issus de sorts différents

Les promoteurs de boxe anglaise professionnelle s'enorgueillissent malhonnêtement qu'un de leurs champions batte un transfuge issu d'une autre discipline (mma, kickboxing) ; mais le chemin inverse n'est que rarement fait. Forcément, le champion qui "reçoit" dans sa discipline (le boxeur en boxe anglaise, en l'occurrence) sera outrageusement avantagé.

La solution pour juger vraiment à armes égales serait de perpétuer cette expérience réalisée par l'organisation ONE. Le champion de muay thaï Rodtang contre le champion de mma Demetriuous Johnson dans un combat hybride : 1ère reprise en muay thaï, 2ème reprise en mma, etc.

Imaginez un combat hybride entre Tyson Fury et Francis Ngannou : 1ère reprise en boxe anglaise, 2èeme reprise en mma, etc ... 

Imaginez un combat hybride entre Oleksandr Usyk et Rico Verhoeven : 1ère reprise en boxe anglaise, 2ème reprise en kickboxing, etc.

Résumé UFC 330 : Makhachev s'est-il offert un record face à Gary ?

 En général, je m'intéresse qu'aux catégories les plus lourdes (celle des "hommes forts") car la notion même de "catégorie de poids" est très récente dans l'histoire des sports de combat. 

Dans l'Antiquité et jusqu'au XIXème siècle, les sports de combat servaient à déterminer le meilleur combattant sans distinction de poids ; aujourd'hui on dit : "toutes catégories" ou "open" pour les anglophones. Tout au plus introduisait-on deux ou trois catégories d'âge dans l'Antiquité grecque puis romaine.

Mais pour le combat ci-dessous, je fais une exception. C'est parce qu'il s'agit d'un record pour l'UFC : Il y a 13 ans déjà, Anderson Silva a eu le plus long règne à l'UFC dans la catégorie des 84kg en remportant au passage 16 victoires consécutives. C'est ce record de 16 victoires consécutives qui est menacé ce 15 août 2026 : la 17ème victoire qu'Islam Makhachev (ex-champion des 70kg et actuel champion des 77kg) pourrait ajouter s'il battait Ian "Machado" Garry.
